We have already explained how Microsoft Excel can be used as a basic statistical analysis software. The first step in the process requires turning on the Statistical Analysis feature, after which you can perform linear regression, ANOVA and much more. Unfortunately, for a more serious analysis users need specialized software such as SPSS, Eviews. Read at least a few Tibco Statistica reviews and mull over the aspects that you desire in the software such as the price, main features, available integrations etc. Then, shortlist a few systems that fit your wants. Try out the free trials of these apps, read online opinions, get clarifications from the vendor, and do your investigation.
Free Download and information on STATISTICA - Statistica is a robust and user-friendly program designed to meet most of the statistics needs. The program is so complete that from the very beginning you can feel like you're using an only vaguely. Free statistical software is a practical alternative to commercial packages. In general, free statistical software gives results that are the same as the results from commercial programs, and many of the packages are fairly easy to learn, using menu systems, although a few are command-driven. These packages come from a variety of sources, including governments, nongovernmental organizations like UNESCO, and universities, and are also developed by individuals. Some packages are developed for spec. This easy to learn and simple to use software saves you valuable time and money. Statistix combines all the basic and advanced statistics and powerful data manipulation tools you need in a single, inexpensive package. Free technical support! Join the thousands of users who have been analyzing data with Statistix since 1985.
The following software is available at no charge, or nominal charge, for use in certain Statistics.com courses. Please note that the instructor may provide illustrations, examples, exercises and occasional pointers in a particular software package with which he/she is familiar, but his/her role is not to serve as a help desk for the software. Where possible, teaching assistants have provided supplemental examples in other packages, and will provide feedback on student work in a variety of software packages. Please check the course description page for details about how software is supported in each course.
IMPORTANT! For free trial versions, check the duration before installing, and don't install the software too early -- make sure that the free trial will run until the end of the course. For a 30-day trial, this generally means you should wait until at least the first week of the course. Once the course opens, you can review information about assignments and due dates to be sure that your installation will carry you as long as needed.
